Nel 1962 il sassofonista Stan Getz diede inizio alla mania della bossa nova negli Stati Uniti attraverso due album: Jazz Samba (Verve V6-8432) e Big Band Bossa Nova (Verve V6-8494). Questa edizione ripropone il secondo dei due LP, che vede Stan Getz supportato da un’orchestra diretta da Gary McFarland. Come bonus è stato aggiunto un raro brano, “Theme from ‘Dr. Kildare”, registrato da Getz nello stesso periodo.
