ALIENO Phono Extremo is an extraordinary tube phono preamplifier, double chassis, for Moving Coil cartridges. It is equipped with three RCA inputs, each of which has independent adjustments to vary the gain (66 – 60 – 54 dB) and the load resistance of the cartridge via blind RCA connectors; these adjustments can be made from the rear panel near each input. The rear panel also houses the output available on RCA and XLR connectors, a switch to enable muting during cable connection operations and the multi-pole connector for the power supply, with Virtual Battery Powered technology, which is in a separate cabinet.
The other adjustments are on the front panel where, starting from the left, there is: an actuator to select the inputs, one to vary the equalization curve between the three available (Decca, RIAA, Columbia) and the last one on the right to switch to mono operation.
All these adjustments can be made during LP playback, as an automatic muting system prevents any possible switching noise from reaching the speakers.
The overall internal impedance of the circuit is less than 250 Ohm, for a perfect match even with very low impedance line preamplifiers (from 2500 Ohm and up).
